PROMPT:
Write a story in poem form that begins at Sunrise and ends at Sunset.
U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo reads her poem “An American Sunrise” and answers a few questions about her laureateship during her visit to the Academy offices on June 17, 2019.
Joy Harjo was appointed the new United States poet laureate in June 2019, and is the first Native American Poet Laureate in the history of the position. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on May 9, 1951, Harjo is a member of the Mvskoke/Creek Nation and belongs to Oce Vpofv. --From Poets.org
