Morning
From abby koehler (she/her) to Everyone 10:01 AM
hello hello!
From Elena Bianco to Everyone 10:01 AM
Hi all!
From Ryer Banta to Everyone 10:07 AM
There seemed to be a good turn out at that meeting from what I recall. Both leaders, gov committee, and tech leads. I think leaders need to keep hearing from us tech leads and we as a group should talk more about our realistic needs and desires.
From Nicole Longpre to Everyone 10:13 AM
We use Google Analytics at Bellevue.
From Elena Bianco to Everyone 10:14 AM
We used to use Google Analytics, but then we switched our website to LibGuides CMS and have been relying on their stats…
From Dan Moore to Everyone 10:15 AM
@Nicole and @Elena I'm looking at the Google Analytics portal now, have y'all created a filter to pull up search terms?
From Elena Bianco to Everyone 10:15 AM
Not in Google Analytics...
From Kirsti Thomas (Seattle Colleges) to Everyone 10:17 AM
@Abby: <Minions gif> Oooo!
From Nicole Longpre to Everyone 10:21 AM
@Dan: our college uses it, and I'll be honest I have not looked at the data much beyond basic usage.
From Dan Moore to Everyone 10:22 AM
Starting with a canned report and then tweaking filters and data fields is so much more pleasant than starting from scratch
From Kirsti Thomas (Seattle Colleges) to Everyone 10:26 AM
Good call Wade! re: the Process type date in the Physical Item subject area
From my notes: Before today:
<=TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_DAY, -1, CURRENT_DATE)
• If we want all transactions in the last 14 days:
"Transaction Date"."Transaction Date" >= TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_DAY, -14, CURRENT_DATE)
• If we want all transactions in the last 2 years:
"Transaction Date"."Transaction Date" >= TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_YEAR, -2, CURRENT_DATE)
• If we want all transactions in the last 3 months:
"Transaction Date"."Transaction Date" >= TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_MONTH, -3, CURRENT_DATE)
• If we want all transactions in the last 1 week:
"Transaction Date"."Transaction Date" >= TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_WEEK, -1, CURRENT_DATE)
within the next 30 days:
BETWEEN TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_DAY, -1, CURRENT_DATE) AND TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_DAY, 30, CURRENT_DATE)
From Ryer Banta to Everyone 10:27 AM
A small tip for building reports and adding new elements - The search on the left column (subject areas) has really helped me find things and figure out where things live. For awhile I didn't realize the search was there.
From Kirsti Thomas (Seattle Colleges) to Everyone 10:28 AM
From Ex Libris PPT: How to use the TIMESTAMPADD parameter in an Alma Analytics report
From Dan Moore to Everyone 10:28 AM
Because Oracle uses SQL logic sometimes it's easier to look up date formatting in SQL
From Me to Everyone 10:30 AM
https://developers.exlibrisgroup.com/blog/alma-analytics-sql-filter-examples/
"Physical Item Details"."Process Type Date" >= TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_DAY, -3, CURRENT_DATE)
From Kirsti Thomas (Seattle Colleges) to Everyone 10:31 AM
Available options are:
SQL_TSI_FRAC_SECOND
SQL_TSI_SECOND
SQL_TSI_MINUTE
SQL_TSI_HOUR
SQL_TSI_DAY
SQL_TSI_WEEK
SQL_TSI_MONTH
SQL_TSI_QUARTER
SQL_TSI_YEAR
From Nicole Longpre to Everyone 10:32 AM
Notepad is your friend
From Amy Herman to Everyone 10:35 AM
Wade are you still in Olympic's system? Maybe we don't have any items that meet that criteria?
From Kirsti Thomas (Seattle Colleges) to Everyone 10:41 AM
One thing to remember about the date filters-- data in Alma Analytics is always 1 day behind.
From Ryer Banta to Everyone 10:46 AM
Very small tip. Maybe obvious to everyone but me
From Elena Bianco to Everyone 10:49 AM
Calculated fields??
The only thing I remember about analytics ;-)
From Dan Moore to Everyone 10:51 AM
@Elena this isn't really about your question, BUT I was wondering if y'all put laptops in a temporary location for transportation?
From Amy Herman to Everyone 10:52 AM
@Dan maybe that's the lesson for the rest of us, put them in a temp location first?
From Dan Moore to Everyone 10:54 AM
We've got a temp location called "IT Review" where we park Chromebooks that have been returned. The purpose of it is to give them a chance to wipe/clean it (if necessary) but also to deaccession the EOL'd machines.
It also removes the CBs at the temp location from the availability pool
From Kirsti Thomas (Seattle Colleges) to Everyone 10:55 AM
Can we take a look at this on the Thursday call?
From Dan Moore to Everyone 10:55 AM
+1 Kirsti
From abby koehler (she/her) to Everyone 10:55 AM
I have to head out, but +1
From Nicole Longpre to Everyone 10:55 AM
I need to head out! Thanks everyone
From Kirsti Thomas (Seattle Colleges) to Everyone 10:55 AM
I have to leave for another meeting soon but I'm really interested in Elena's problem. :)
From abby koehler (she/her) to Everyone 10:56 AM
thank you everybody!!
From Ryer Banta to Everyone 10:57 AM
Bye all. Thanks as always.
From Kirsti Thomas (Seattle Colleges) to Everyone 10:57 AM
Thanks!
From Dan Moore to Everyone 10:57 AM
Have a great rest of the week all
