WorldCat Discovery

Lauren Bryant at Shoreline is doing some very interesting integration work between Primo VE and Shoreline's WorldCat Discovery interface.

Namely, providing link outs from citations in Primo VE to WorldCat, which can then be used by patrons to make self-service resource sharing requests. For example, as in this citation:

Based on Lauren's knowledge, WorldCat Discovery is available to any institution with a FirstSearch subscription.

So some of you may have access to WorldCat Discovery without being aware of it.

Alma Resource Sharing Directory Webinars

We've talked about the improved Alma Resource Sharing Directory as a potential direction for those libraries with active resource sharing programs.

In addition, a recent call took place among California/Western US institutions to gauge the interest of a West-coast resource sharing "pod" among Alma institutions. That call took place on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. That call was recorded and is available here

Create User XML Sample File from Alma

You can create an XML sample file from an existing user, using the "Create Sample File" option from within the User Load integration profile that processes the nightly user files.

This feature can be useful when troubleshooting user load issues, or when contemplating change requests to the patron load process.

"Create Sample File" is described in the User Integration Profile documentation page:
