A couple of library-related mobile apps came up in discussion this week.
The first app is the Alma Mobile application.
The functionality of the application is limited, but does support "Pick from Shelf" and "Scan in" workflows.
Another approach to using Alma in a mobility use-case is to log into Alma via a browser on an iPad or other tablet device.
A second mobile app discussed is the new Ebsco mobile application, which is geared towards patron self-service use cases.
If you know of other mobile applications available to library staff or patrons that support products or content within our own eco-system, please share them via our listservs or at meetings.
I shared info about the current conversation and crowdsourcing of info about WACTC library plans for Fall 2021, and the availability of this shared info on the following Google docs spreadsheet:

During the Thursday call, Lily Kuhn, South Puget Sound, brought up the topic of the Alma Bursar integration.
At SPCC, they currently do a manual integration, where they export fine/fee info via analytics, and those fine/fees go onto student records in the campus system.
Alma does offer an automated integration, for institutions willing to implement and support it on the campus side.
The integration involves exporting from Alma on a scheduled basis the desired fine/fees as an XML file. With integration support on the institution side, that information can be imported on a scheduled basis into a campus system, such as ctcLink.
For interested institutions, if you can make the case to your institutional staff so that they'll provide the integration support necessary on the ctcLink side, I am happy to support you and your institution through that integration.

SCC is a lot in person, but we are mostly a tech school, so hard to do online.
From Will Parnell to Everyone: 10:18 AM
Peninsula College opened for limited hours in Summer. We are planning on opening for almost full hours this Fall even though many classes are still online. We are becoming a vaccinated college for both staff and students.
From Karen Waite to Everyone: 10:20 AM
SCC will be open to community members this fall for the first time since the pandemic started
From Xinhang Hu to Everyone: 10:20 AM

From Karen Waite to Everyone: 10:22 AM
We're open 7:15-3:30 M-F with on-site librarians the whole time.
From Kirsti Thomas (Seattle Colleges) to Everyone: 10:24 AM

From charly to Everyone: 10:24 AM
Edmonds College open Mon-Thur 10 - 6, Friday 10 - 2 with extended virtual chat hours
From Cara Beth (she/her) to Everyone: 10:27 AM
Grays Harbor College library will be open M-F, not sure if we've set hours yet. 8am-5 or 6pm? It is more because our staffing budget was cut than due to COVID restrictions
From Xinhang Hu to Everyone: 10:29 AM
Sorry I was answering a student's email while listening. We are using the Seat Booking module in LibCal for seat reservation, capacity control, and contact tracing. The circ. staff will be checking students in as they come into the library with or without a reservation.

Nah. Take the barcode scanner to the books, not the books to the barcode scanner. :)

I had to go in and tweak settings in EBSCOadmin to get the EBSCO app they just released to work for us, btw, so folks might check on that if they think their patrons might use it
