Register to Vote!

Don't wait until the last minute to register to vote. Registering is easy, and Washington votes by mail, so you don't have to go to a polling station on Election Day (November 3).

Please visit the State of Washington site for voter registration

If you have a driver's license, the simplest way to register is online.

To register to vote, you must be:

  • A citizen of the United States;
  • A legal resident of Washington State;
  • At least 18 years old by Election Day;
  • Not disqualified from voting due to a court order; and
  • Not under Department of Corrections supervision for a Washington felony conviction.

About This Guide

This guide serves primarily to recommend information sources for following the 2020 general election. These include government websites, media outlets, voter guides, and polling data.

2020 Presidential Election

The 2020 election will pit incumbent Republican President Donald Trump against the Democratic challenger, former Vice President Joseph Biden. Several candidates representing minor parties or independent platforms are running as well. This will be the 59th presidential election, the first having been in 1788.

Washington elections

Local and state-level elections are important, too, and their results can often have more direct impact on your daily life than the presidential election. Here are some sites related to races taking place in Washington this year.
