Zotero - Your Research Assistant: Gather your sources in your Zotero Library

Zotero is an amazing app that helps you collect citations for almost anything, including journal articles from databases, websites, Youtube, etc. Then create in-paper citations and bibliographies (Works Cited, References, etc.) in as little as 5 seconds!

Collect your sources

Add items to your Library

Now that you have installed Zotero and the Browser Connector you are ready to create a Collection of Sources.  You might want to include journal articles, government sources like websites, or even images or videos.  Simply select the Zotero icon and it will copy the source to your collection!

For example, this student has navigated to USA.gov to find information on Salmon in Washington State.  They landed on the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife Conservation page and now decide they want to add it to their Zotero Library.

  1. Open the Zotero application by navigating to your computer’s applications list or searching for it.

  1. On the item you want to save, for example the Salmon web page, select the Zotero icon (in this case it looks like a document).

  1. Now that web page is added to your Zotero Library
